Vertical Tabs in Side Panel
Vertical Tabs in Side Panel is a free Chrome extension developed by Jackie (Guokai) Han. As the name suggests, this extension allows users to display and manage tabs vertically in the browser sidebar. With support for both light and dark themes, users can customize the appearance to their preference.
There are three ways to open the extension sidebar. Users can click on the extension icon, which needs to be pinned to the browser toolbar. Alternatively, they can use shortcut keys, with the default being Alt+V. Lastly, users can click on the browser sidebar icon and switch to this extension.
Once the extension is open, users can utilize various functions to interact with their tabs. Single-clicking on a tab will switch to it, while double-clicking or middle-clicking will close the tab. Right-clicking on a tab will provide additional options such as closing, pinning, and duplicating the tab. Users can also drag tabs up or down to rearrange their positions. Additionally, a bottom toolbar is available for searching tabs.
To customize the sidebar position, users can navigate to Browser Settings → Appearance → Side panel and choose between left or right.
It's important to note that this extension only supports Chrome 114 and above, and may not be compatible with other browsers.
